Extended Schools

Extended schools begin in the month of September. We offer an average of sixteen clubs each term from Monday to Thursday. These clubs include; Arts and Crafts, Yoga, GAA, Soccer, Choir, ICT Club, Games Club, Homework Club and Running Club, amongst others. We have a mix of external agencies and our own teachers who provide their expertise in these areas. These are open to Key Stage one and two pupils. Approximately 500 of our children avail of our extended schools clubs throughout the year.

Parenting Lodge

We are delighted to have a wonderful Parenting Lodge in our school. Our Parenting Lodge is run by our Parent Support Officer, Alison Coleman. We recognise that when we actively support parents, we create a strong partnership between parents and staff, thus leading to numerous benefits for our pupils, parents and the wider school community. By supporting our parents we empower them to play an active role in their child’s education.

This involvement gives parents a sense of ownership and confidence in their ability to support their child’s learning at home. Alison facilitates numerous parenting sessions including ICT, Literacy, Seesaw, First Aid, Healthy Eating, Cookery, Craft classes, Wellbeing and Suicide Awareness classes, to name but a few. 100% of parents surveyed recently stated they believe their personal wellbeing has improved greatly as a result of attending these sessions.
